The MARINEWIND LCOE simulation tool provides an estimate of the overall cost of producing energy per MWh for floating offshore wind farms by forecasting future macroeconomic factors—such as inflation, interest rates, electricity bid prices, capacity factor, and operating hours in real-world future scenarios.
The outputs of the tool are the median and the range for the following variables: LCOE (Levelised Cost of Electricity), sLCOE (Simplified LCOE by NREL), WACC (Weighted Average Cost of Capital) and ROE (Return on Equity).
Please, input the following variables filling the appropriate boxes below (examples of country specific input values): Country, Preferred Currency, Offshore Wind Farm Capacity in MW, initial value for the Share of Equity (%), initial value for the Inflation Rate (%), initial value for the Nominal Interest Rate (%), initial value for the Corporate Tax rate (%), Feed-In Tariff (per MWh), initial value for CAPEX (per kW), initial value for OPEX, Project Lifetime (years), Initial estimated values for the Shape and Scale factors.
When the user selects their preferred country, feed in tariff, CAPEX, OPEX, Weibull shape and scale factors will be filled in automatically.
The user is required to input the value of the Capacity Factor for the simplified LCOE
(Capacity Factor values for bottom fixed offshore wind technology).
